Cersaie, the largest ceramics and surface coverings fair in the world, unites the most important players in design and architecture in the most prominent and prestigious showcase event to present their products, news and trends in Bologna every year.

2023 gave way to the 40th edition under the theme “Ahead of Evolution” that challenged exhibiting brands to present their trends for the years to come. Revigrés, a 100% Portuguese company and renowned ceramics and surface coverings brand was once again present at the event.
BRAND PURPOSE
Contribute to the creation of unique and inspiring environments through the development of sustainable ceramic solutions stemming from the technically advanced and exclusively designed know-how of a company with a Portuguese soul (a country with a strong ceramic tradition).
CHALLENGE
Revigrés intended to present its main collections at Cersaie (emphasising its recently renewed Chromatic Collection, one of the most complete technical porcelain collections in the world) in a 240m2 stand, ensuring a striking presence capable of enhancing the brand in a very competitive international context. With over 640 exhibitors, it was essential to create a concept that naturally combined the brand's purpose and the fair's theme, “Ahead of Evolution”, but that also translated into a technological structure that presented a differentiating product exhibition whilst staying true to the brand's environmental concerns, garnering the interest of a deeply knowledgeable and demanding audience.
SOLLUTION
Linear and the literal coordinates are essential for assimilating reality and navigating everyday life. However, when we address a creative audience (designers, engineers, architects) it becomes necessary to go further and replace the obvious with the unusual, the linear with the multidimensional. Inspired by the motto “Ahead of Evolution”, a stand concept was created that challenges the very notion of space-time, where the visitor is challenged to leave the world of the physical and expected, and enter the dimension of the ethereal and unlikely: “Utopia - a journey through space and tile”. More than an exhibition stand that presents the diversity of Revigrés products and materials, “Utopia - a journey through space and tile” is a portal that transports all those who cross it to a world where all ideas and possibilities can be accomplished.

With its imposing entrance, which serves as a portal to the multiple aesthetic and functional possibilities of the Revigrés portfolio, Utopia can be seen as a monument or temple supported by the pillars of sustainability, design and innovation. Two angular walls accentuate a central corridor where the Cromática collection ipresented. The portal motif is then replicated within these walls to create 6 sheltered chambers, each with a particular conceptual environment.
Utopia is a word that literally means “no place” and where, paradoxically, all places can exist. This concept defines a bold and visionary attitude that takes the stand to another level, giving it a mysterious, almost mythical personality, which inspires fascination and awakens curiosity in those who pass by.
In hall’s core we find a display that glorifies the Collection's catalogue like an altar, with samples of all 30 colors, 10 formats, 3 finishes and 9 textures.

A 3.5mx2m LED screen lies at the bottom. A focal point, a window from which it is possible to see the entire Revigrés universe.
Central Hall
As soon as the visitor crosses the entrance they're faced with a long paved corridor exhibiting to its full length and width the 30 colors of the Chromatic Collection, creating a unique aesthetic effect that highlights the importance of this Collection.
Pavilions - Marbles Collection and Stones Collection
When passing through the portals, visitors are transported to minimalist and clean environments, where the protagonist is the true to size raw material in all its glory.

The purpose isn’t to present a “closed” space, a prototype of a kitchen, bathroom or living room; the purpose is to present the collections in a utopian and inspiring, abstract context, which left all creative possibilities open.

Used to classify an idyllic world or idea, the word Utopia materialized into a structure that, paradoxically, challenged its essence and function. A bold approach that allowed Revigrés to receive praise from both visitors and other exhibitors, which proved to be crucial in creating new partnerships in markets such as Sweden, Finland, Germany, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
